Issue:
When there's a damaged or missing QWCLOG.TXT file, you may encounter errors such as:
- QBWC1085: "There was a problem with the log file. QuickBooks Web Connector will continue without the log file."
- Exception TypeError: Unknown name
Solutions:
If your company file isn’t connected to a third-party application:
- Sign in as the Windows admin to have proper access.
- Navigate to the folder:
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
- Delete QuickBooks Web Connector:
- Right-click QuickBooks Web Connector in the folder.
- Select Delete to remove the shortcut.
- Restart your computer.
- Open QuickBooks again after the restart.
If your company file is connected to a third-party application using Web Connector:
- Exit QuickBooks and Web Connector completely.
- Navigate to the folder:
C:\ProgramData\Intuit\QBWebConnector\log
- Rename the log file:
- Find QWCLOG.TXT.
- Right-click it and rename it to QWCLOGOLD.TXT.
- Reopen Web Connector and restart your computer.
- Open QuickBooks and sign in to your third-party application again.
If the problem persists:
- If the error remains after following these steps, contact Intuit Support for further assistance.
